Support to the University management

The General Secretariat is responsible for the annual planning (dates, meeting locations, calendar invitations), the agenda of business and the preparation and dispatch of meeting documents, maintains the distribution lists, takes care of the minutes, follow-up and business control of the Executive Board of the University (around 50 meetings per year including strategy and development talks and a retreat), the Extended Executive Board of the University (9 meetings per year), the meetings of the Executive Board  of the University with the deans (10 meetings per year and 2 retreats), the Academic Senate (at least 2 meetings per year), the Management Dialogue ("Führungsdialog"; 6 meetings per year) and the Vetsuisse Council (responsibility rotates every two years between the Universities of Bern and Zurich).
